Agent-based simulation model of multimodal iron ore concentrate transportation

Most global supply chains are implemented through the use of some different types transport. This especially applies to general cargo: iron ore, oil, grain. As participants in transport process increase, risks delays, interoperational downtime, and delays deliveries increase. Therefore, improvement multimodal cargo transportation remains an urgent scientific applied problem. The aim studying was research technical operational parameters chain delivery (on example ore concentrate). research's study realized by development agent-based simulation model. model is Any Logic Research Edition environment with Java SE, as this toolkit allows combining discrete-event approaches simultaneously. a result experiment developed model, it found that: 1) approximately 40% time spent waiting for unit load (8%) freight being under collecting up loading rate into (33%); 2) sensitivity has determined that all variable technological basic difference ratio between railway train sea vessel greatest influence on average delivery; 3) relationship capacity (with constant mass shipment train) case accidental arrival rail transshipment terminal highly approximate linear dependence. results can be used improve logistics concentrate from Ukraine other countries
